Pain-free complex ldap scenarios

What

The current LDAP Plone integration offers easy configuration for certain
OpenLDAP and ActiveDirectory setups. Otherwise you get in touch with the underlying machinery. LDAP usermanagement, as usermanagement in general, is not specific to Plone and should be realized outside of it.

We present an LDAP usermanagement covering all possible setups, that is glued into PAS by one slim plugin and offers a plone control panel for
persistent configuration of the outside system. Default configurations can be loaded. The sessions covers application and implementation.

I am working with Plone since 2003 and am actively involved since 2008 and attended the European conferences and several sprints (blackforest, cathedral, fourdigits, saunasprint). In my google summer of code project (paula), I worked intimately with Plone, PAS, PAU and LDAP. In discussions with my mentors Jens W. Klein und Robert Niederreiter a concept was formed taking a new approach towards LDAP. Since last year I am working as a python/zope/plone developer together with syslab.com, starzel.de and the bluedynamics alliance and am a
driving force behind a node-based user management system supporting ldap as a backend.
